In 2019, the Saint-Gervais ski area made a check for € 8,000 to the "Maison de la Jeunesse et de la Culture de Saint-Gervais" (Center for Youth and Culture). Mobilized to support local associations, the STBMA (managing company of the Saint-Gervais ski area) took advantage of the replacement of the 2-seater Chattrix chairlift to set up a sponsorship operation for the benefit of the MJC. In fact, in 2019, a new 6-seater detachable chairlift replaced the old Chattrix chairlift, located at the start of Saint-Nicolas de Véroce.

But that was before the general public's craze for these increasingly rare vintage seats. “Some professionals specialize in restoring and restyling seats from old lifts. They transform them to make garden or lounge benches for hotels or private homes. And customers are fighting for them! For the first time, we therefore wondered about the possibility of selling the chairlift seats. But we wanted this sale to be useful and symbolic. We immediately thought of the MJC. Given the importance of his role in the daily life of Saint-Gervolains, we did not hesitate. "

Created after the Liberation, the Youth and Culture Centers have an ardent mission of popular education through cultural leisure activities. They play a major role in the daily life of communities. Alexandre Merlin confirms: “The Ski Area of Saint-Gervais is very happy to support the MJC in its mission and its projects. Its social, cultural and educational action is essential for the Saint-Gervolains. And perhaps above all, the MJC is a place of meeting and exchange, a place where one creates bonds. This sponsorship is in line with strong human values that we share within our company. "
