World Cup

On January 24 and 25, 2022, Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc will host the only French telemark world cup stage. The events of this first world stage will take place on the Petite Epaule piste in Saint-Nicolas de Véroce.
Come and discover telemark, and admire the performances of these runners from all over the world from January 23 to 25, 2022 in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc.

TELEMARK ... WHAT IS IT?

With "free" heels, "Telemarkers" ski with a position that is as unique as it is aesthetic. Much like a "lunge," the inside leg is flexed, with at least a shoe length between the two feet.
Telemark competitions are a mixture of alpine and nordic, downhill and uphill. A telemark competition always has the following elements: a giant slalom, a jump, a "loom" (raised 360 ° turn), and a skating part.

Saturday, January 22: 

10:00 to 16:00 Telemark initiation & Equipment test - FREE
Location: Plateau de la Croix (access by the Chef-lieu chairlift from Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, or on skis by the Chattrix chairlift)
Initiations with “Val Montjoie Télémark” and “Génération Télémark” - Test with “Telemark Shop”

Sunday, January 23: 

09:00 to 10:00 "Telemoose" - FREE
Location: Plateau de la Croix (access by the Chef-lieu chairlift from Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, or on skis by the Chattrix chairlift)
Attend the children's race, organized by the "Val Montjoie Télémark" association
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Children's equipment test & Telemark initiation (All audiences) - FREE
Location: Plateau de la Croix (access by the Chef-lieu chairlift from Saint-Nicolas de Véroce, or on skis by the Chattrix chairlift)
10:00 to 13:00 Team training for World Cup events
Location: Piste de la petite Epaule (access by the Chattrix chairlift)
4:15 p.m. Departure of the national team parade
Join the procession to accompany the runners
Location: From the Assumption Val Montjoie to the Mont-Blanc Promenade
4:30 p.m. Opening ceremony
Presentation of national teams and drawing of bibs
Location: Mont-Blanc promenade (Saint-Gervais village center)

Monday, January 24:

10:00 am First round of the “Sprint” race
Location: Petite Epaule track (Saint-Nicolas de Véroce)
1:00 p.m. Second round of the "Sprint" race
Location: Petite Epaule track (Saint-Nicolas de Véroce)
2:45 p.m. Flower ceremony (Schedule subject to change, depending on the time of the end of the race)

6:00 p.m. Prize giving for the "Sprint" race

Tuesday, January 25:
10:30 am Start of the "Classic" race

12:30 pm Prize giving for the “Classic” race
